Boss Dreadskull Leads Artel Miniatures’ Orktober Releases
October 8, 2025 by brennon
Artel W Miniatures are getting into the swing of Orktober as well as Kromlech with some excellent miniatures for you to use when building your 28mm scale Sci-Fi Orc armies.
Boss Dreadskull // Artel W Miniatures
We lead with the impressive figure of Boss Dreadskull, who is going to be smashing his way into Space Orc armies with that massive claw and an oversized gun that has just the right amount of dakka. Boss Dreadskull here might be familiar to those who have played the stories of Titus, as he had quite a grudge against the Space Marine hero. He looks excellent and is very close to the figure from the original game.

This means, when you dive into constructing your new Orc army, you've got a great starting point for a thematic collection. You can then make sure that the other Orcs that you add into the mix match with the different troops that you found when playing through that campaign. It also means that you've got a colour scheme already worked out for your force!
Weird Spellz
If you're looking for someone to follow in the wake of Boss Dreadskull, you've also got the option to pick up Da Brain-Zap Sham, who can use some of their weird cunnin' to get your ladz where they need to be.
Da Brain-Zap Sham // Artel W Miniatures
Another limited edition miniature for this month, Da Brain-Zap Sham is seeking to unlock whatever power lies within his noggin' before unleashing it on some unsuspecting enemies on the battlefield. He is covered in charms and talismans that might be able to give him his lucky break and I love the extra work that has gone into detailing yet another gorgeous resin figure from Artel.
Spooky Orcs!
If you're looking for something a bit more focused on the spooky for the Halloween period, you can also get the Franky-Ork and Gobbo-Brain.
Franky-Ork and Gobbo-Brain // Artel W Miniatures
The real power behind the greenskin armies of Sci-Fi wargaming are, of course, the goblins. This set, Franky-Ork and Gobbo-Brain, showcases that in spades, with Gobbo-Brain bringing his immense, mutated brain power to the slab and using it to create an impressive resurrected servant who can smash his enemies. Franky-Ork looks like he could clobber his way through a fair few enemies before he went down.
These would obviously be brilliant miniatures for you to use in your games of Warhammer 40,000 but they would be nailed on for someone seeking Orc-based skirmishes. Maybe try them out in Modulorka or Space Gitz if you're looking for something off the wall and creative.
Da Howla’ween Petz
Last but not least, we also have a set of fun, Halloween-themed monsters for you to throw into your games.
Da Howla'ween Petz // Artel W Miniatures
Perhaps changed and warped by some odd space magic, Da Howla'ween Petz might look friendly but if you get too close, they will end up snapping your hand off. Maybe you could put them near your trick-or-treat bucket over Halloween as a warning to those who try to pilfer too many chocolates.
I like the idea of using them as objective markers in your games, perhaps in the aforementioned Modulorka or Space Gitz.

Uuuuuuh niiiice
I keep jumping on the Goblinmaster’s releases with a view to using them as pirates in Stargrave. This guy would be a bit out of scope but LOOK! Absolute unit!
That Boss Dreadskull looks just like in the game! Great mini indeed.
