Brother Vinni Preview New 28mm Varangian Mercenaries

Brother Vinni previewed another miniature for their Historical collection recently and, more specifically, the Varangian section of their SAGA range. The new set of four miniatures will be their Varangian Mercenaries of which one of them is shown here.

This is another of the detailed resin miniatures from Brother Vinni which will add to their Varangian range and give you, perhaps, some core troops for you to include with a Varangian-focused warband. They would also be perfect for those seeking to add in the Varangians as mercenaries alongside another force from the period.

The miniature here comes armed with an axe and shield but I would imagine we'll see a few other options amongst the final set of four. He does also have a sword strapped to his belt for when he's spent using his axe to pull down shields.

It would be great to see some of these miniatures from Brother Vinni painted up. The Varangian theme gives you plenty of scope for adding some colour to your miniatures beyond the classic "Viking" look if you wanted to do a bit of an experiment.
