Painted Classic Fantasy Dwarves Pop Up From Wargames Atlantic

The 10mm range from Wargames Atlantic is growing slowly and we're seeing more and more previews for the Classic Fantasy Battles collection at the moment. A recent post over on the Facebook Group for the game showcased their Dwarves, painted up and ready for battle.
Classic Fantasy Battles Dwarves // Wargames Atlantic
The new plastic set seems to follow the same setup as the Orc set that Wargames Atlantic first released. You have a good core of infantry for your army armed with a variety of different weapons alongside more elite troops, missile troops (in this case, crossbows), plus cavalry mounted on the back of fearsome rams!
You also get a selection of command options for building leaders for your 10mm Fantasy army. According to Charlie from Wargames Atlantic, the set will give you enough to do twelve miniatures per 40mm x 20mm base. Following the examples on the back of the box is usually a good way to work out how to build up your armies.
As well as the Dwarves, we also got a look at another sneak peek for what's coming next. Treemen, anyone?
Treeman Sneak Peek // Wargames Atlantic
It feels like Wargames Atlantic are going to be hitting all of the classic Fantasy tropes when it comes to their Classic Fantasy Battles collection, which is no bad thing. As a fan of Tolkien who has always been intrigued by the idea of doing some big battles set against the backdrop of The Silmarillion, this might be the way to do it!
What do you make of these new miniature previews?
"It feels like Wargames Atlantic are going to be hitting all of the Fantasy tropes when it comes to their Classic Fantasy Battles collection..."
I have to admit, they look much better than just in strips of five.
Soooooo TINY
Notice the strategic basing system in order to maximize sales! 9 bases in one unit. This game better be good or I will just buy a box or two and stick to the games I already play.
To be fair, we don’t know that that’s a single unit. It could be like Warmaster were you can bridge units together.
I’m also willing to bet that the crossbow guys are a separate unit from the regular infantry.
Those are very tempting, they remind me of the old WFB stuff I used have a long time ago.
Happy to see these joining the line and a good variety in the box. I love my tiny dwarves from Pendraken/Kallistra but no one ever said you couldn’t have a second army of dwarves, right?
