Creatures Of The Deep Come To GCT Studios’ Bushido
March 3, 2025 by brennon
Pre-orders are now available for a whole host of new 35mm miniatures for use in their Fantasy skirmish game, Bushido. There are some fascinating new personalities for you to choose from, as well as a new themed boxed set featuring creatures of the depths by GCT Studios.
Akita // Bushido
First up, we have a new character for The Awoken. Akita had lofty ambitions and so earned the nickname of Princess amongst the Syndicate. However, things didn't go as planned, but Akita has been able to put her new fond skills to use, terrifying her opponents as part of a new troupe. She is good at inducing poisonous effects within her foes and even the most powerful melee-focused miniature won't be able to last long against her.
Next up, we're turning to the Savage Wave and a brand new gardener turned servant of the Council Of Shadows.
Ka-Feng // Bushido
Ka-Feng is something of a strange being who spends most of their time tending the gardens of flora in the underworld, which he often needs for his supply. Now that he has found his way to the surface, he brings his poison-coated weapons to bear against the enemies of the Savage Wave. I love the trowel-come-kunai!
A new Ronin joins the cast of characters in Bushido this month with General Wu Shuo.
General Wu Shuo // Bushido
Fighting as part of the Golden Legion, Wu Shou is a powerful melee combatant. He is a famous warrior and that shows through in his mechanics. You would hope that he is going to be able to meet his friend General Mako and face down even more terrible foes. He has a suite of abilities that will be able to keep him alive and deal out a whole host of punishment to aggressors that threaten him and his kin. An awesome miniature in a very commanding pose!
Sticking with the Ronin theme, we also have Zhongwei.
Zhongwei // Bushido
Zhongwei defended a child of the Imperial Family when an attack threatened their camp. She is twined with General Wu Shuo (above), who realised that Zhongwei, who recovered in the company of the Imperial Family, really wanted to head back to the front lines. She is another powerful melee-focused addition to your warband, counterattacking even the most deadly foe. It would be awesome to have both of these characters together on the tabletop, watching each other's backs.
Lastly, at least for the individual releases, we have the Electric Eel...
Electric Eel // Bushido
This legendary-style creature joins the Jung Pirates. It waits patiently in the depths (be that in the shadows or the corner of a pond), ready to strike. They are often used to shock rival pirates before the other members of the crew jump in. Summon that aetheric sea and let one of these loose!
The Deep - Themed Box Set
A new themed boxed set is also available for you to snap up from the folks at GCT Studios. The Deep calls for those wanting to unleash watery horrors!
The Deep Themed Warband // Bushido
The set comes with eight miniatures alongside their bases, profile cards and special cards so you can make use of them together as one on the tabletop. A drowned woman's rage has drawn the seas to her side, and the pirate queen is not to be betrayed!
The Deep - Miniatures // Bushido
There is no escaping these terrors and the sculptors at GCT have had a lot of fun bringing these creatures to life. The Pirate Queen herself looks brilliant, especially when flanked by those fishy friends that you see above her. The faces on those little crabs are super weird but would be fun to paint!
All of these miniatures are now available to pre-order so get stuck in!
