Fireforge Games have started previewing some prototypes for a new range of hard plastic feudal Japan kits that they plan to take to Kickstarter in March.

The range is planned to have seven multi-part kits that will allow you to field a full force on the tabletop for the Sengoku Jidai period. The figures will be 28mm heroic to match Fireforge's current figure range of figures. Fireforge have been asking people to comment on the prototype sculpts and let them know how many parts to assemble our future plastic Samurai warriors? Separate arms, torsos, legs, heads, scabbards (with katana inside or not like on the model below) and other accessories like sashimono.

Already the prototypes are looking very good and a range of plastics will be very welcome as Clash of Katanas is on its way this year as well. The samurai stance and options look very good already before they refine the details on the sculpts for the Kickstarter campaign. I'll be interested to see what options they finally go with for the warriors in the end. Will we see a range of weapons for the samurai or will they be more prosaic in the load out?

Prototype Ashiguru

Despite what Tom Cruise would have you believe gunpowder is great and massively embraced by the Japanese and so we have a ranged Ashiguru priming the pan there.

With seven kits coming including monks they should have everything you require @lloyd to field some Samurai on the tabletop, the only question is which game you plan to use them with

The answer is Clash of Katanas
