Footsore Miniatures Surrender In The Barons’ War

Late last year Footsore Miniatures, and Games ran a Kickstarter for Barons' War miniatures sculpted by Mssr Paul Hicks. Suffice to say it did rather well and in short order, this January, people received their pledges and started to show them off, unboxing, painting and generally making a nuisance of themselves with their shiny toys.

Why do I say nuisance? Well it's simple. Footsore had their releases planned, and the Barons didn't feature, hence the Kickstarter to get them sculpted and cast. A sort of early access for those taking part, and for those that didn't they could wait until the summer for the release at retail. Then came the emails, and now after getting their inboxes spammed with requests and enquiries regarding the release Footsore have surrendered and pulled the date forward to...well to-day actually. You can go there right now

These 28mm miniatures can be used for games set during The Barons’ Wars, and not only that, they’ll work for both sides of the conflict! Additionally, they’ll work well for games that take you Crusading in the Middle East, particularly the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Crusades (and a few years/decades either side).

With 21 packs, a mixture of foot and mounted, being released simultaneously I can't show you all of them, but I've included a selection of my favourites to show what you can expect with this range. The sculpts are clean and crisp and as you can see from the painted examples look divine with a splash of colour. The range includes knights as well as lower classed footmen.

There are so many games I could run these out in, Saga for example or Lion Rampant. For people pining after the lost lands of Bretonnia you could easily start a force using these figures. I'm a particular fan of the Knights of Christ and hope to see a full range of those in the future for the Crusades, but for now, these will have to do the job.

So for anyone who missed out on the Kickstarter you've won, you can stop inundating the inboxes of the Footsore team and order away to your heart's content.
