Fight For Jerusalem With Footsore’s New Medieval Characters
February 11, 2025 by brennon
Footsore Miniatures & Games added a couple of characters to their Medieval range for The Barons' War and by extension, Outremer and your adventures in The Holy Land. You can lead the fight for Jerusalem with Balien Of Ibelin for example.
Balian Of Ibelin // Footsore Miniatures & Games
First, we have Balian Of Ibelin, also known as Barisan the Younger. He will be known to most folks as Orlando Bloom's character from Kingdom Of Heaven, defending Jerusalem when Saladin sieged the city in 1187. He was based on a historical figure who was a crusader noble and Lord Of Ibelin from 1170 to 1193.
He was the leader of the defence of Jerusalem and eventually surrendered the city to Saladin much like in the film. You could use this miniature to play out portions of that brutal siege, either taking the historical angle or venturing into the Hollywood and the cinematic clash.
Balian needs a foe to fight and you can get Salah al-Din, Sultan Of Egypt from the folks at Footsore Miniatures & Games.
Salah al-Din, Sultan Of Egypt // Footsore Miniatures & Games
More commonly known as Saladin, he was the first sultan of both Egypt and Syria who made a name for himself during the Second Crusade and then became a more important figure in the Third Crusade. He was a famed military leader but his strength lay in his strategic thinking. This could be a good way for you to play out that fun Hollywood clash in your games of The Barons' War.
The Common Archer
As well as the two big characters above, you can also get the miniature for Philipe The Fletcher.
Philipe The Fletcher // Footsore Miniatures & Games
A good Fletcher and eager to show those young archers in his village that a poor workman blames his tools. If you were to include him in your games of The Barons' War, you could introduce Philipe as a leader of his fellow archers, watching over them or getting involved personally. A great miniature for those like me who enjoy archers!
Will you pick up one of these three miniatures or all of them?

I don’t know why but Philipe The Fletcher somehow speaks to me.
One year’s Salute mini was a similarly posed archer. I didn’t go but had to pick one up from Fleabay
That’s my favourite Salute mini
