WizKids has recently made an announcement that two iconic characters from the 90s will be heading up their own card game. The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff are heading back to Philly, and this is certainly not a story all about how the Fresh Prince's life got twist-turned upside down. Players will engage with the coolest of gangs, proving to all overseers who the one true Fresh Prince is, in the upcoming title Summertime.

Summertime // WizKids

Players will head out to the streets of Philly, to set out and meet the coolest of the street gangs to which we have heard about and seen featured in the popular tv show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And doing what Will does, is he going to be challenged by mere street cretins?

2-4 players will take turns, playing cards to earn the most amount of 'Cool Points'. Players will utilise their Action, Energy and Boost Cards to work their way up to be damn awesome in different locations. Whether they be maxin' and relaxin', or shootin' some b-ball outside the school. Being the coolest will determine the winner of the game.

Summertime // WizKids

Players will have their own 'Vibe' to keep an eye on, they may be Chillin', they may be Buzzin', but players who have matched their Vibe to each location will earn bonus cool points to rack up at the end of the game.

Inspired by the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air song by Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff - which is known as an "absolute banger" where I live - the game is quick taking roughly 20 minutes, it is fast-paced and the artwork really does incorporate everything from the streets of the 90s, all tied up on one box.

There is no release date as of yet for the title, but you can expect to see a pre-order date announced soon.

If you are keen on the concept and want to head back to Philly yourself, the rulebook is available to download here. So be sure to check out the ins and outs of the upcoming title to judge whether the card game really is as "cool" as we anticipate.

What do you think of this upcoming card game?
