Khorne Clashes With Slaanesh! New Heroes & Books For Age Of Sigmar
March 6, 2023 by brennon
Games Workshop dove into The Mortal Realms over the weekend with some new previews for the Blades Of Khorne and the Hedonites Of Slaanesh in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. Leading the way are the gore-covered followers of Khorne and the Realmgore Ritualist.

These brutal warriors love spilling blood (who would have thought it) in the name of their god. Once per battle, they can carve runes into the terrain and cause realm-blood to burst forth, driving those around them into an absolute frenzy.
The miniature isn't quite what I would have expected, especially because of the face mask. I wasn't entirely sold on it, to begin with, but I now think it has quite a retro vibe to its design. I could imagine this being part of a Khorne army back in the 80s or 90s.
It will be interesting to see if the Realmgore Ritualist comes with any other options when it comes to building the miniature, perhaps to tinker with the accessories and such. I guess that's what kitbashing is for!
New Bloody Battletome & Vanguard Set
As well as the new miniature, you're also able to get your hands on a blood-soaked Blades Of Khorne Battletome.
Battletome - Blades Of Khorne // Warhammer 40,000
This will come with updated rules for playing as the followers of Khorne on the tabletop and turning the many realms into a sea of gore. Aiding you in this is the new Vanguard set which comes with enough miniatures to get you started as Khorne.
Vanguard - Blades Of Khorne // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This set comes with ten Bloodreavers, ten Blood Warriors, three Skullcrushers and then a Slaughterpriest leading the way. A good mix of muscle and armour for you to get painting.
The Lord Of Hubris
Moving to another of the Chaos gods, you can also dive in and pick up the Lord Of Hubris soon for the Hedonites Of Slaanesh.
Lord Of Hubris // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
These warriors are, as Slaanesh would prefer, utter showboaters. They wear very little armour and will taunt and tease their enemies before brutally dispatching them. They are keen to hunt down your opponent's finest warriors and will lure them into personal combat. At that point, they will be cut to ribbons as the Lord Of Hubris bathes in the adoration of Slaanesh.
A Hedonistic Battletome & Vanguard Set
For those wanting to get started with Slaanesh, you've got a new Battletome striding forth into the midst of the fighting.
Battletome - Hedonites Of Slaanesh // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
Again, new rules will be included within that offer up a good way to start battling across the Mortal Realms with your Slaanesh mortals and daemons. The Hedonites Of Slaanesh have a particularly underrated set of miniatures in their range and I bet they would be suitably fun to paint.
You can get some of those nice miniatures here...
Vanguard - Hedonites Of Slaanesh // Warhammer Age Of Sigmar
This set comes with a Shardspeaker Of Slaanesh, three Slaangor Fiendbloods, ten Blissbard Archers (and a Homonculus) plus five Slickblade Seekers which can also be built as Blissbarb Seekers instead.
Some great options for those seeking to pledge themselves to the gods of Khorne or Slaanesh. I think I would like to go down the route of brutally slaughtering my way across the Mortal Realms with the Blades Of Khorne.
What do you think about these new previews?

Feet on rocks ++1
Always in cover if you have a bit of terrain with you
Besides of foot on rock pose those are really nice.
Now some people might complain about the unnatural look of the Ritualist’s pose but I can assure you that’s a good stretch they have going on there…obviously limbering up before a fight…
Heh!
