Four New Historical Sets Coming Soon From Victrix Miniatures
March 24, 2025 by brennon
Victrix Miniatures previewed four new plastic sets that are going to be coming in the near future to bolster their various 28mm Historical ranges. Plenty is coming that covers Ancient warfare as well as Dark Age and Medieval battles.
Irish // Victrix Miniatures
The first set features the Irish who come armed with a mixture of javelins, slings, swords, axes and spears. You'll also get the Victrix staple of plenty of heads to make your warriors unique. There will also be a separate frame which includes four War Dogs, two Handlers and a couple of Warlord figures that can also be built as Standard Bearers. A solid set of skirmishers.
Sticking with the Dark Ages and Early Medieval period, we also have the Scots & Picts.
Scots & Picts // Victrix Miniatures
This introduces a new set that would be great for the Age Of Invasions, the Age Of Arthur and of course, the Viking Age. This will be a hefty thirty-six-figure set which will come with plenty of cloaks and hoods that give the Pict/Scots feel to the collection.
Victrix are going to be capping off their exploration of Britain/Albion with Scots/Irish/Welsh Nobles, cavalry and skirmishers. Victrix are going to make it very hard to not dive in and play out an excellent Dark Age campaign set against the backdrop of rainy Britain.
Moving back to the Ancient era, we also have the Thureophoroi.
Thureophoroi // Victrix Miniatures
These fantastic infantry figures were used alongside the phalanx amongst the Late Greek and Macedonian Successor armies. They will come armed with javelins, long thrusting spears and the impressive Thureos shield which is similar in style to the Celtic shield that you might be familiar with.
With Gripping Beast introducing Ancient Indians into the mix, maybe you need a Macedonian army for Alexander to lead against them. That could be done with this plastic set!
Last but not least, we have the Islamic Horse Archers.
Islamic Horse Archers // Victrix Miniatures
These Horse Archers would have been the backbone of your Islamic army during the Crusades and this set will feature options for depicting troops based on the Seljuk and Turkoman warriors. Much like with the Islamic Cavalry they have already released, there are some detailed kits on the way.
Are you going to be picking up just one of these kits or all of these?

Those Irish look angry. Someone took away their pub?
Perhaps someone opened an ‘irish theme pub’ and you know how much that iritates the irish.
Hmmmm…actually the first thought I had when I saw them was if you took away the weapons and shields and replaced them with wee 28mm beer bottles and pint glasses, these lads would look like they were having a great night’s craic in the local tavern.
Those dogs! 🐶🐕🦮🐩🐕🦺
I will be certainly be purchasing a couple sets of the Irish. They look just perfect to morale test the enemy.
