Footsore Miniatures & Games are showing off a handful of new Paul Hicks sculpts which will be coming to their collection soon for those wanting to bulk out Late Roman armies in a variety of 28mm Historical wargames.
Armoured Spearmen // Footsore Miniatures & Games
It looks like we're going to be getting a bunch of Paul Hick's sculpts that you can use for the core of your Late Roman/Romano-British armies. There are some armoured examples above, with their spears and shields at the ready. These armoured soldiers could work as your well-trained veterans who fight alongside your characters but you can also get a set of unarmoured versions as well.
Unarmoured Spearmen // Footsore Miniatures & Games
Once again, this set comes with a bunch of your standard spearmen with those iconic shields alongside more command options. As mentioned above, these miniatures are perfect for your Late Romans or Romano-British who could fight alongside the Arthurian range by Footsore. Slot these troops in alongside the likes of King Arthur and his knights and you'd have a good army for battling against the Saxons.
Romano-British Heavy Cavalry // Footsore Miniatures & Games
Whilst there are already rules for you to use your Late Romans in games like SAGA, it seems like there might also be more rules coming out as part of Conquest covering the period. So, if you have access to the rules for The Barons' War, this might be a chance to start a new collection alongside the folks at Footsore.
Are you going to get started on a new Late Roman force with those Paul Hicks sculpts?

Better late than never, eh, Romans?
besides … what have the Romans ever done for us ? 😉
Which Hicks clone has done these?
The infantry is solid, I prefer the cavalry just that bit more. Whether I would pick these over the plastic options now around is unlikely though. Makes me question the point of putting effort into these, but if it allows people to add to their existing collections to make it viable then all for it.
Once again superb work by Paul, some fantastic looking miniatures!
