Onyx Path Publishing are once again allowing us back into the New World of Darkness as they tap into humanity's inner monster with the return of Beast: The Primordial onto DriveThruRPG.

Beast The Primordial

In Beast, players take on the roles of the Begotten, beings who embody a primal nightmare of humanity, such as the fear of darkness, or of the depths. Their souls are those of ancient monsters, many of which have turned up in the myths of mankind. They must struggle in the New World of Darkness to sate their hunger, but must be careful not to overindulge, or else risk letting heroes rise to contest them.

Beast: The Primordial strikes me as a particularly interesting aspect of World of Darkness as its concept of the embodiment of mankind's nightmares is far more abstract than the other games in the series. Being part of the New World series, it is also tailored to fit with those other games, and its focus upon monsters and monstrous natures makes it the perfect way to further explore the setting.

Did you ever play Beast: The Primordial? Which of the New World of Darkness games is your favourite?

"Beast: The Primordial's concept of the embodiment of mankind's nightmares is far more abstract than the other games in the series."
