Perry Miniatures has now released their first selection of twenty wargaming miniature sets for use in the War Of The Triple Alliance which took place between 1864-70 and effectively shaped the way we see Central and South America today.

War Of The Triple Alliance Releases #1 - Perry Miniatures

Uruguayan Infantry Command

All of the sets are for a range of different armies which took to the field of battle during the period. For example, you've got the Uruguayans above but then you've also got the Paraguayans, Brazilians, Argentinians and more too. This is certainly a range and period that I've never considered before but the armies look great.

Uruguayan "Libertad" Battalion Advancing (Carlist Berets)

Again, this is very much a selection of miniatures for armies that I think provide us a glimpse at battles happening beyond the sphere of Europe. I think a lot of folks are very much tied to the idea of playing games around familiar areas like North America and Europe but there was so much going on in different areas of the world which are fascinating.

Uruguayan Infantry Running

Whilst we've had a look at a lot of the Uruguayan forces here, there is a lot for you to dive into for the other factions. I particularly like the way that the Brazilians look which is neat.

War Of The Triple Alliance Releases #4 - Perry Miniatures

Brazilian Infantry Firing Line

This is a rather fun little collection of miniatures that might take you off on an entirely different route into history. It's always fun looking at the battles fought in often-overlooked corners of the world.

What do you think?
