Piano Wargames’ Ace Danube Campaign Kickstarter Launches
October 30, 2024 by brennon
Piano Wargames are back on Kickstarter with another gorgeous collection of 28mm miniatures for your Napoleonic wargames. The Danube Campaign Part 2 has launched and it is packed with both new French and Austrian miniatures for you to build your armies.
The Danube Campaign Part 2 // Piano Wargames
Superb sculptor Lucas Luber is back with an amazing range of miniatures to cover the entire War of the Fifth Coalition of 1809. There are going to be 200 brand-new miniatures for you to pick up based on the art and Historical documentation of the war.
As Lucas has mentioned, the focus of this campaign was to try and bring iconic moments from this war to life on the tabletop. Some examples include "Lasalle's final charge at Wagram, General Dorsenne's stoic display at Aspern-Essling or Bessiere's cavalry attacks at both of these battles." I love the amount of attention that goes into bringing this range to life.
French Guard Infantry // Piano Wargames
All of the miniatures that you see here come in two flavours. You can either go for the STL Files for all of these French and Austrian miniatures so you just print them off at home OR you can get these miniatures in glorious metal. Whichever way you go, you're going to get some absolutely stunning sculpts which I think are rivals to giants of the industry like the Perry twins.
French Infantry In Greatcoats // Piano Wargames
Both the French and the Austrians get access to a whole bunch of new sculpts for their infantry, command elements, artillery and cavalry. This means that you'll be able to make properly themed armies to match the period and in this case, you also get the likes of the French in their Greatcoats battling the cold.
French Command Set // Piano Wargames
French Cavalry // Piano Wargames
All of the miniatures from the campaign are packed with dynamism and character. The cavalry are thundering forward on their horses, weapons raised, and all of the regular infantry look like individual soldiers.
French Artillery // Piano Wargames
This is by no means the depth of the offerings for both the French and as you'll see, the Austrians below. There are loads of additional sets and there will be more unlocked through the addition of Stretch Goals during the course of the Kickstarter.
Austrian Infantry // Piano Wargames
What's really nice is that all of the miniatures that you see here can be printed in smaller scales and they work really well. Piano Wargames has shown off examples of their miniatures printed in 14mm scale and they look gorgeous at that "epic" scale.
Austrian Cavalry // Piano Wargames
Austrian Artillery // Piano Wargames
The rest of the Kickstarter is also given over to add-ons that you can get from previous campaigns. If you want to bolt on some of the miniatures from previous successful campaigns then you can. You can get yourself loads more French and Austrians as well as the civilians that called all sorts of trouble!
Austrian Command // Piano Wargames
Piano Wargames do some amazing miniatures and I sense that a lot of people might be drawn into this period and Napoleonic battles because of their sculpts. I have to also take my hat off to Stephan Huber who has done an amazing job painting these miniatures. Inspirational.
Will you be checking out this campaign and these new miniatures?

I think in 28mm there are already SO many examples of Napoleonics – Perry come to mind as my favourite.
But when I read that they can be scaled down… now we’re on to something! AB Figures have great minis, but are hard to come by.
This might be a great option for smaller scale. 👍
Lovely lovely stuff….I’m really enjoying my epic waterloo. I’m hoping auzterlits is down the line in future plans following tricorns and lace
