Perry Miniatures are now taking pre-orders for their newest plastic set, the Franco-Prussian Bavarian Infantry of 1870-71. This is a new 28mm plastic set for those diving into your Historical wargames.
Bavarian Infantry (1870-71) // Perry Miniatures
This set comes with twenty-four Bavarian Line Infantry plus enough components to make four command miniatures and eight of the Jäger/Schützen for use during the Franco-Prussian War. The Line Infantry can be assembled advancing whilst the riflemen are all in skirmishing poses.

Perry Miniatures mentioned that whilst there are small differences in the rifles used, these figures could be used to fight the Prussians in 1866 as well as alongside the Prussians against the French in 1870-71. You will also have options in the kit for their unique 'caterpillar' helmet or the peaked forage cap if you prefer.

These miniatures are lined up to be released during the first week of March so you won't have long to wait until they become available. Additionally, if you go for the Perry Miniatures pre-order deal, there is a bonus (as yet unsculpted) mounted metal general that will be included as part of your bundle. You can find out more about that HERE.
Do you fancy picking up some new Bavarian Infantry in plastic?

Caterpillar helmet 👍
I’ll be getting this to bulk out my forces for Eagles of Empire
A conflict I knew shamefully little about. Very dapper chaps though.
@somegeezer it’s a really interesting conflict. Napoleon III, and the foreshadowing of the Great War. Lots of interesting battles to be played. The Perry range is probably the best 28mm out there. Glad they moved on this project, and keep going!
I guess it’s a kind of a last hurrah for big troop blocks marching around in fancy coats. Worthy of a book or two and at least a pipedream of a project
These are awesome, but out of morbid curiosity…why do they make the molded-on “puddle” bases? Northstar also does this with the Frostgrave minis; I wind up having to cut them off, and sometimes it damages the feet.
I wish they’d make them with tabs, instead, but is there a reason they do this I’m not aware of?
