Gripping Beast has now opened up pre-orders for their new set of slightly tweaked rules, Milites Mundi, which allow you to play out large scale battles on the tabletop using miniatures from the smaller end of the scale, namely 10mm.

Milites Mundi - Gripping Beast

This is an expanded option for those playing Swordpoint and immediately supports the release of their models for the Early Imperial Roman Empire and Parthians. Milites Mundi works for games set throughout the Ancient period and flows into the Medieval era too.

The game uses the same Army Lists and Campaign Supplements that you are familiar with from regular games of Swordpoint, allowing you to play out games in around two hours. There is a real focus on this being a proper mass-battle rank-and-flank affair where it's all about positioning and tactics.

If you'd prefer to take things to a grand scale this seems like a nice new option on the market and if it does well, maybe we'll see them design some new 10mm forces which build on the existing collection.

Let me know if you'll give this a go below!
