Studio Tomahawk Announces SAGA: Age Of Alexander Expansion!

Studio Tomahawk has today announced a new expansion/supplement for SAGA. Age Of Alexander is on the way offering up a way to fight as some of the mightiest Ancient armies of the period!

The new book will come with a whole host of new options for you to tinker with. Six new factions are going to be introduced including the Greek Cities, Thracians, Macedonians, Persians, Indians and Successors.
Greek Cities // SAGA: Age Of Alexander
Each of the factions is compatible with Age Of Hannibal but you'll also find updated information on equipment and special rules which apply to each of these mighty nations.
Indians // SAGA: Age Of Alexander
There are also additional rules for Mercenaries, Ruses and also a full-on four-player campaign system that will allow you to duke it out over a series of games with your tabletop gaming companions.
Macedonians // SAGA: Age Of Alexander

With an October release date, this one isn't that far away. I'm sure I know a certain Wookiee that will be very eager to get stuck in and play around with the rules presented here. There might also be a Johnston brother who could be tempted as well!

I’m definitely getting this. Really enjoyed putting forces together and playing Age of Hannibal so looking for more of the same here. I have my Macedonians already bought and waiting to see how to put the force together. I have Persians I should be able to reuse too.
Successors ? As in “Alexander’s successors” ?

no idea what point you are making, if it is the name of the faction as Successors, pretty much every english rule set that covers the period calls them that.

Successors is just bland, and it feels like an historical game could use more specific terms.

I’m happy seeing this era get some love. I teach high school and am the ancient history teacher. However this era for Saga just feels wrong. I prefer skirmish gaming in my own personal time but I just struggle to see how Macedonians vs Indians feels or looks right without hundreds of minis in rank and file.

A good excuse for a new army. Starts off intended just big enough for Saga but then you need options and it ends up big enough for Hail Caesar.
Thracians seem appealing.
