Piano Wargames are back on Kickstarter with another stunning round of 28mm miniatures for your Napoleonic-era wargaming. This time, they are bringing some amazing miniatures to the tabletop for those wanting to play as the Grand Duchy of Baden.

The Grand Duchy of Baden - Piano Wargames

Inspired by reading With Eagles to Glory' by John H. Gill, Piano Wargames is looking to produce miniatures covering the Grand Duchy of Baden, with over 100 brand-new miniatures making it into this project, allowing you to field the entire army of Baden in all of its glory.

Piano Wargames gave some more background on Baden and its influence throughout the period, including the use of the Light Dragoons during the Danube campaign and how Elector Karl Friedrich was one of the first to join the Confederation of the Rhine in 1806. The troops of Baden then found themselves sacrificing their lives for the sake of Napoleon in the likes of Prussia, Spain, Austria, Tyrol and Russia.

This campaign, in the fashion of previous Piano Wargames campaigns, will give you options for picking up the troops of Baden either as 28mm metal figures or as digital STL Files that you can print off at home. The metal figures are finely wrought little treasures and all of the digital files come both supported and unsupported, with a resin 3D printer being suggested for the best results.

When it comes to the miniatures you can get as part of the campaign, you can get your hands on the Baden Line Infantry (above) and the Jaegers, which should form a good core for your fighting force.

They are supported by staples of Napoleonic armies in the form of cavalry, like the Light Dragoons and the Hussars, but also Artillery for hammering fortifications and spooking the enemy on the field of battle.

Baden Artillery - Piano Wargames

Stretch Goals for the project also include more Baden-themed miniatures like the Baden Gard de Coup (below), plus casualties, skirmishers, grenadiers and more. All of these are, again, available as both metal figures and as STL files.

I am always fascinated by the named characters that come as part of these campaigns and Piano Wargames has not disappointed. There is also this great set (below), which comes with a load of notable names who can be used to lead your army on the tabletop.

You also have a range of Infantry Officers and Aides de Camp for you to use when adding some colour to your force, be it as part of a large battle or a smaller skirmishing contingent. All of the miniatures here have been painted by the talented hand of Stephan Huber from Stephan Huber Miniature Painting, who has truly shown off the quality of these miniatures.

If you're interested in learning more about what Piano Wargames do, you can check out the newest Price of Crowns Kickstarter project, where you can see plenty of their previous miniatures and get some helpful tips for 3D printing your figures if that's the direction you want to go.

Could you be tempted to explore the Grand Duchy of Baden with this new campaign?
