District-Z

We know that zombies are all the rage these days, and there has been a variety of Zombie games to choose from recently. Well, the newest zombie game to hit Kickstarter is District-Z by George Rubio.

Survivors

This is the second go-around for this game and the creator firmly states that they have taken gamers' suggestions and comments into consideration while they tweaked the game. They believe they have come back with a "richer and more robust game" that any fans of zombies will thoroughly enjoy.

The game is for 1-4 players and is a relatively quick game played in roughly 30 minutes. The game play revolves around cards, dice and tokens/markers. The game "board" is generated by random card draws, which makes for a very unique and different game every time you shuffle and set it up.

The game play follows the mechanics that we have all come to know in the zombie games- moving through locations, managing resources, killing walkers (again), and ultimately making it out of District-Z. To make it different than some of the zombie games out there, this game is semi-cooperative, meaning you need to help each other to survive through most of the game play, but you have to exit District-Z first in order to win. The game is scheduled to hit the backers in September and had no trouble funding their goal this round, with time to spare.
