WarFulcrum Games is a small two-man band bringing their brand new World War I wargame to Kickstarter. These folks were actually at Salute 2025 showing off the game and it looked very impressive indeed. See what you make of 1918: A First World War Miniatures Game.
1918: A First World War Miniatures Game // WarFulcrum Games
1918 is an alternating-activation Historical tabletop wargame where you fight out the last year of World War I. Games normally use between thirty and sixty miniatures on each side and games last between two and three hours. There is a real focus on the combined arms nature of the later years of World War I with infantry, cavalry, tanks, artillery and even aircraft working together. They are also exploring the command challenges that were faced by the junior officers leading their men into a changing world.

As well as alternating activations, the game also makes use of some specific mechanics to hammer home the feel of World War I on the tabletop. For example, the game introduces realistic suppression and rules for dynamic leadership. By extension, those leaders will be able to issue impactful commands that fit within the historically plausible options that would have been available to the forces of the time.
1918 also introduces a selection of forces that would have been fighting at the time like Germany, Britain, France and the United States. The core book features rules for infantry, vehicles and artillery and a planned supplement will move on to introducing aircraft, additional nations, warfronts and more.
Force lists include...
- American Expeditionary Force Infantry Division: AEF Rifle Platoon (Early) & USMC Rifle Platoon (Early), plus Battalion and Divisional Support
- British Infantry Division: British Rifle Platoon & British Machine Gun Platoon, plus Battalion and Divisional Support
- French Infantry Division: Rifle Platoon (Early) & Veteran Rifle Platoon (Early), plus Battalion and Divisional Support
- German Intervention Division: Intervention Rifle Platoon & Stormtrooper Platoon, plus Battalion and Divisional Support

World War I also played host to a lot of trench-based warfare and so the folks at WarFulcrum will also be producing a set of modular trenches which you can use to build your tabletops.
