Wargames Atlantic Prepare 10mm Fantasy Orcs For Battle
March 18, 2025 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic gave folks a proper look at the plastic sprue that you'll be able to get inside the new 10mm Orc Horde set that will be available for the new Classic Fantasy Battles range.
Orc Horde // Wargames Atlantic
Here's some of the background on the Orc Horde that Wargames Atlantic has been putting together...
"Once loyal servants of the Many-Named, the orcs splintered into scattered tribes and bandit kingdoms after his defeat. Now, they roam the wild lands bordering the Free Kingdoms, their former power diminished by the passage of centuries.
The strength of the High Queen has kept them largely pacified, though orc raiders still prey on undefended trade caravans and outlying villages. Yet, fractured and divided, they have not raised their banners in open war in mortal memory."
Inside the set, you'll get three frames of eighty-four figures for a total of a whopping 252 figures that you can make use of when building your armies. The complete collection breaks down as such...
- 72 Bowmen (6 bases)
- 36 Spearmen (3 bases)
- 36 Light Swordsmen (3 bases)
- 36 Heavy Swordsmen (3 bases)
- 36 Heavy Axemen (3 bases)
- 12 Warg Riders (6 bases)
- 15 Command Figures and 9 Casualties
Wargames Atlantic, being the nice folks that they are, showed off the plastic sprue from the set. There are some great options here for you to choose from and they should make a great start for a big, 10mm army that could be used in something like Warmaster, Fantastic Battles or the new game that Wargames Atlantic has in the works.

The design of the Orcs is spot on and should get a lot of folks excited about the idea of diving into epic-scale battles. They are going to be up for pre-order this Friday, 21st March alongside a series of articles discussing those Classic Fantasy Battles rules that Andy Hobday is working on.
Will you be snapping up this new 10mm set?

nope, just finished my 10mm Copplestone Castings ones… I’m sorted for now XD
I already have a GW 10mm orc army, but these are perfect for more Tolkienesque type Orcs.
That’s a lot of minis, that do look spectacular. Wonder what the price is going to be like for the box.
Their 10mm seems to be priced the same as everything else. I’d expect £30 or equivalent.
While I may not go in for the Orcs, there are supposedly other sets coming out with the game release. Hoping for Undead…
I don’t think I can not buy these.
