Following on from the excellent new Trench Crusade miniatures that we saw last week, Westfalia has previewed more of their new digital release coming in July. The TrenchStench collection will expand with the Children of Yggdrasil.

The Children Of Yggdrasil #1 - Westfalia

The Children of Yggdrasil // Westfalia

These pagan warriors have marched down from the North to show that their old gods still have dominion, regardless of the terrifying hellscape that has ripped apart the world. They will get their own rules from Westfalia in the future, but they will also work as "New Antioch" at the moment.

The most recent previews showed off a lot of the multi-part digital files that you'll be able to get from Westfalia in July, which can be used to arm your Children of Yggdrasil with a variety of melee and ranged weapons.

The Children Of Yggdrasil #2 - Westfalia

One of the cool things about Trench Crusade is the fact that you get that cool mix of Medieval and World War I in the design of the troops. Here, you're getting some classic Viking/Saxon design touches mixed with notably more modern elements like the gas masks affixed to helmets and the big coats.

The Children Of Yggdrasil #3 - Westfalia

I already have two factions for Trench Crusade sitting on my painting table, ready to go, but I could be persuaded to pick up a third. I don't have New Antioch, so this could be a good in for that faction. It's hard to ignore badass Grimdark Vikings.

We also got this preview recently for The Children of Yggdrasil. An ornate, Viking-inspired take on the Mechanised Heavy Infantry of New Antioch.

The Children Of Yggdrasil #4 - Westfalia

That is one hell of a boomstick. It will be fascinating seeing what people do with the intricately detailed armour. Do you go for gold inlay or do you make it look rusted and battered, as if it has seen many, many battles and it's a relic-like talisman rather than proper armour?

Could you be tempted to scoop up some more miniatures for Trench Crusade? Perhaps The Children of Yggdrasil could tip you over the edge?
