Burst From The Woods With Wargames Atlantic’s Satyr Brutes
June 27, 2025 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic has added a new 28mm plastic set for their Classic Fantasy collection. The Satyr Brutes are on the warpath, charging out of the forests to despoil the world of men, performing their profane rituals and bringing untold evil into the world!

Based on the original RGD Gaming Satyrs, these are now available via Wargames Atlantic who has put together a nice new bunch of twenty-four plastic brutes. These larger Satyrs are brutal creatures who come in at 35mm in size, making them dwarf quite a lot of other miniatures on the tabletop.
The miniatures can be armed with a variety of one-handed and two-handed weapons, plus you also get a selection of accessories like variant head types, tails and shields.

This could then end up forming the bulk of a new army aligned with the darker side of nature, or you could drop them into skirmish games and roleplaying games as foes that you come up against during encounters. You could do a fun Ancient Greek myth-based spin on a lot of games where your warband of Argonauts find themselves off on a new adventure.
Will you be scooping up these snarling and braying Satyrs?

Sorry wargames Atlantic, but I do not like these models. Not my style
Agreed; not their best work – crude, like bad 80s sculpts.
I like them. In fact if they re-issued the fauns and centaurs I’d build two small Midgard armies- one made up of these and other wild beasts from Greek mythos and the second with Greek warriors from my Victrix Athenians that are just sitting in the basement.
Good additions for beastmen player’s
If I went back for another Greek army these might well come in handy. I think these were some of the better models from the RGD lines.
Own some and can say these are actually worth getting for monster hunting games like silver bayonet or Frostgrave as well as games like KoW. If you come across the old RGD set it will likely be a better deal since it had 40 figures in it, that said this isn’t bad.
