An extreme case of power creep would be found in the game magic the gathering…
To the point that it is itself a natural progression of the game, and totally expected. Which is obvious atleast to me that it is really about making money.
40k and other games like warmachine don’t really qualify as a power creep game. Due to the lack of game content release in regards to 40k. They just jack everything up price wise. Or like Warmahordes where everything is released at once or given a reboot like Mark 2 rule set…

thanks for not having a compo in the middle of the show, you guys are great are for giving so much stuff away, but by not having a compo just in your show gives those of us who cant see the show when it goes live actually has a chance.
There is a definite power creep in 40k. Anyone who has read this months Necron White Dwarf or seen the new Codex would agree. Doomsday Cannon? A named Character who if he wounds one model gets one wound on all the others in the unit of the same name? The Monolith does suck up and instantly destroy units within a certain distance of it. Some of the Special rules are so cheesy the Codex should be supplied with crackers! Saying that I like it.
There’s a difference between imbalance and being broken… 40k is totally broken and has been for a few years you still have 3rd edition codexes trying to compete with fifth edition. Thats not power creep that is a game that is destroyed. Power creep once again going back to Magic the gathering is where the game mechanics is totally changed to the point that the old technology that has been put in place becomes useless.
