Build Your Cromarty Forge 15mm Late Republic Roman Army
July 10, 2024 by brennon
The Plastic Soldier Company has recently added more of the Cromarty Forge range to their webstore for those looking to dive into some 15mm Ancient wargaming. The latest army to be included is the Late Republic Romans, marching into battle with all manner of sets.

The Cromarty Forge range are normally available as STL Files for printing at home. Still, The Plastic Soldier Company offers physical miniatures (alongside various accessory options) for you to start building your army.

The range is produced in 3D printed resin by The Plastic Soldier Company using the Ameralabs TGM7 Resin which has been designed for tabletop miniature. It is apparently robust and keeps the quality that you see in the miniatures here.

The Cromarty Forge range is diverse and comes with lots of different options for foot troops, cavalry, artillery and more. If you like the style of these miniatures then you can get everything that you need to build your armies. I was particularly taken by the Legionaries Attacking set which could be used on the front rank of your units with other soldiers simply standing behind.
You can also get yourself the famous Testudo which would be good for marching up towards the walls of a city in a siege, avoiding incoming missile fire.

Riding around the flanks of the enemy army, you've also got your Cavalry. I like the printed detail on the shields which should work really well with a base coat of paint and a quick wash to pick out the detail.

Supporting your troops in their advance, you also have some artillery pieces like the deadly Scorpion Bolt Throwers and some Onagers.

Use these to pound your enemies into the ground, reduce walls to dust and pick off enemy defences. Overall, this is a great range of miniatures and it's good to see the 15mm collections from Cromarty Forge becoming more and more available as physical products as well as STL Files for 3D printing.
All of these sets are available right now over on The Plastic Soldier Company's webstore. Dive into the range and have a peek at the options as well as some neat terrain.
What do you think of these 15mm Late Republic Romans?
