The navies of the United States, Japan, Imperial Prussia, all had a stake here, as well as the Corporate Consortium (United Aerospace Enterprises, Ares Defense Consultants, Cignis Systems). Thanks very much, @zorg – indeed there is a little Space Battleship Yamato in here, especially the more serious iterations of the franchise in later decades and reboots. Other influences include FASA’s Renegade Legions: Leviathan, FASA’s Star Trek Starship Tactical Combat Simulator, Fire When Ready, Letters of Marque, and a host of other sci-fi and historical naval combat games / franchises.
So Is a player manual going to be Somewhere Down the line or is this a one off heavy metal mash up ?
A 20-page illustrated .pdf has been written years ago, @zorg , that explains the backstory and universe and tech … but I want to give it a quick “lick of paint” to tighten up the writing and remove some of the inside jokes (originally written for our local gaming group here) before widespread publication.
