I never liked the original Delaque models, but of all the things that have changed in the overhaul of Necromunda these models have benefited greatly!! Where there was once a group of guys who looked like they had watched the matrix too many times and developed a severe trench-coat fetish, there now stands a gang of men (and women) who now feel they have been plucked straight from Dark City (1998) and took a detour to the space navigators guild from Dune! they fit into the grimdark setting perfectly. This particular gang is a secretive group within an already mysterious house, each member is selected from other Delaque gangs in Necromunda and even other hive cities, once a member is selected they have a month to prepare for the I never liked the original Delaque models, but of all the things that have changed in the overhaul of Necromunda these models have benefited greatly!! This particular gang is a secretive group within an already mysterious house, each member is selected from other Delaque gangs in Necromunda and even other hive cities, once a member is selected they have a month to prepare for the "Trial of the Stygian Path" quite literally a maze of corridors in the underhive which has been plunged into darkness and rigged with traps set up by other members of the gang. To pass the trial the initiate must prepare over the month using their skills as a Delaque to gather information to tip the odds in their favour, this can be done through any means which they deem necessary. If the initiate makes their way through the corridors and emerge on the other side then they are met at the other end by the current members and welcomed as a fellow Scion. Despite being an experienced ganger each member is treated as a fresh Juve and are expected to hone their skills with the most basic equipment.
Kvothe the Silence is the current leader of the Scions of the Stygian Path, already a skilled Delaque before being invited to join the Scions. When the time came to conduct the Trial of the Stygian Path everybody witnessed him entering, the doors sealed, but he never emerged at the end. The Old leader waited for hours before dismissing him as a failure. Upon returning to his Habitation Dormitory he was greeted by Kvothe who had taken the liberty of cracking the safe and sat offering the Leader a glass of his own Amasec to toast his success, the details of his time in the corridors have been kept a closely guarded secret to others but it was enough to impress the old leader and at that time, avoid getting a stiletto blade between his ribs.Kvothe the Silence is the current leader of the Scions of the Stygian Path, already a skilled Delaque before being invited to join the Scions. Nice paint job, agree on the Dark Cities vibe… However I do feel that the GW sculptors got a bit lazy with this box set as the poses on these are probably the worst so far. They are all “wave your guns in the air, like you just don’t care”, with NO arms able to carry a rifle (although looking at the previews on the Forge World site, at least they’ve added a few), instead just strapped to the back 🙁 The mark of a good mini always comes down to the pose of the miniature (this is where Kev… Read more »
