The Great Grey Massacre.
Finishing Touches.
To finish off the incidental terrain pieces I painted up the oxen using Citadel Contrast paints. Wraithbone was used as the base coat. Gore-Grunta Fur Contrast was used on two with skeleton horde Contrast on the horns and hooves. Of the others one was painted Nazdreg Yellow and the final one was Aggaros Dunes. I used Basilicanum Grey Contrast for their horns and hooves.
The bases were made from MDF left over from the Wooden frames the carts came on. As always these were painted Coat d’arms Goblin green.
As an addendum I was playing about with Foam Clay after an intriguing video by LukeAPS. Given that I only have a temporary gaming setup on my dining table light and drop proof terrain is really useful so I thought I would play about with it. I do not know if the climate in my flat is too hot and humid (I cannot open the doors and windows due to the variety of things being smoked all around me) or if my batch is really moist. What I do know is it takes a very long time to dry. Far longer than the instructions claim. The experiments continue, as does the production of small rocks.
I did have a play with a failed rock and randomly made an egg out of it. I tried painting it with Fyreslayer Flesh but this went on really streaky so I gave it a strong layer of Flesh Tearers Red and ended up with an interesting result. Given four layers of Coat d’arms Gloss Varnish. I nice piece of glass work? The embryo of some fell or enchanted beast? Or simply a carved marble ornament?
