Haqqislam Khawarjs
After the cold waste that is Kaldstrom I needed some heat. I was fortunate enough to find a trade in the OTT Discord for some 40k models I didn’t want anymore. I got two boxes which I will show here in two posts (sorry again). I don’t collect Haqqislam however my mate does, so he got a gift of two boxes. As my friend doesn’t paint, any Haqqislam I paint will be for him. He was very pleased with the outcome as he got to see them last weekend. This did however get me to improve the quickness of painting leather, this also got me into painting this quickly with stippling with an old brush. I had done this before but never had the opportunity to focus on it. Glad I did it. Though the second set is better than the first.
Someone (I could name and shame but I won’t) snipped off the end of the sword and stuck these together with green stuff before. Most were falling apart when I got them. This was a blessing as it gave me the opportunity to clean them up easily and again practice sculpting the ends of swords. I definitely need more practice at both of the above.
That’s the box, overall pleased but a little underwhelmed they are slightly older models, but I think the issue is I don’t like the studio scheme. The red turbans clash for me. All I see is Xmas. But I needed to match the one in the starter box and Tarik Mansuri so didn’t feel I could change it at this stage. This did set me up for doing leather quickly so I honestly can’t complain and they were quick and fun to paint with most of the faces covered and were wearing gloves.
More to come very shortly.
