Entry #1: Roughing in the display base
Using a piece of “rock” from a pet shop – I’ve inverted it because it looks really interesting that way.
By cutting down some of the plastic hexes, I’ve tried to create different heights across the piece. This is for two reasons:
- it provides more visual interest by not having all the frogs at the same elevation
- it provides a stronger link to the mechanics of the game itself as mountains are on really thick hexes, forests are a bit thinner and desert are thinnest of all.
This is still very rough and needs a lot of refinement. Once this stage is dry, I’ll then go in with putting to blend into the rocks and to add mountains, forests and desert textures.
