Book thirty four Stealer of Souls
The Dave Gallagher cover drew me in when I was younger with a baddy and illusions. This is Mordraneth who is one of those evil types who wants to unleash a magically army. These bloody wizards. He's even kidnapped a nice wizard who we have go rescue. Written by Keith Martin this was an ok rescue mission elevated by the art of Russ Nicholson.
I do like a good map in my books. Somewhere on the lovely isle of despair is the iron chasam where we rescue Alsander the wizard. I did enjoy the change of scenery from above ground searching to dungeon crawl.
Going to bed in chainmail can't be comfortable 
Oops this looks like how many times I died playing thus one.
You go to the effort of rescuing Alsander and he just teleports away leaving you to fight the baddy alone in the empire of illusion. I don't know how many more of these evil wizards I have to kill. They should be monitored or something.
