I won a £25,- voucher for JoeK Minis in the last Salute giveaway here on Beasts of War. I used that and a little bit extra money to buy these two miniatures from JoeK Minis. They are the Minotaur and the Hound.

I have to say that these resin miniatures are so well sculpted, they are really beautiful. The Minotaur comes with a ton of accessories to customize it, I will probably use most of them. Now they’re off having a soak in some soapy water and hopefully I’ll soon be able to build them, weather permitting I do anything of course.

The building's done.

I build the Hound and the Minotaur. I have to say that these are not the best miniatures to build in certain areas and in others it works and is thought out perfectly.

The exhausts on the back of the Minotaur are small and one of them got unfortunately taken away by the sink because I’m clumsy. I do have a filter thingy on my sink to hope and stop any bits going through, but at the right angle it fitted through perfectly unfortunately. So mine has 4 exhausts on its back instead of 6 to make it look kind of okay. I also managed to not go with most accessories, mostly just left the cloth bits of.

I’m going to paint the mini’s separate from their bases. The bases I’m using are the 40mm derelict bases from Micro Art Studio. Holes have been drilled in the bases and in the feet of the Minotaur to match. I couldn’t get a good fit for 2 holes on the Hound and went with only one and glued it up on a 1mm brass rod. With the Minotaur I’m going to try to mount it on paperclips in a bit of cork to paint it without glue, so that I can glue the brass rods in later and not waste brass rod. The Hound will also go in some cork, but it only has one mounting point so I don’t think it will be very stable on it if I didn’t glue it.

Tonight I made quite a bit of progress on The Hound from JoeK mini’s and the base I got for it from Micro Art Studio. Waiting for things to fully dry before I can continue.

Here is another update on my Minotaur from JoeK Minis and the derelict base from Micro Art Studio. Both are pretty much ready for varnishes, but first when everything is dry is attach the Minotaur to the base.
