About the Project

Greetings all, this is a project that I have decided to start up in hopes to help me finish up and complete one of my armies that are slowly now invading my living room >.>. I decided that it should be the force that I have been running in a narrative campaign throughout the month of October. I know that it is about over half way through the month, but the end goal is to have it done by the 30th of January at the latest. I have had trouble in the past with completing armies but I am hoping that a Project log will allow me to keep my head in the game a bit more, and hopefully be able to show off some interesting techniques in how I accomplish some of the execution. With that I hope to post twice weekly once on Monday and Thursday. Maybe some more depending on the week. I hope that you enjoy this journey and maybe more to come. ^O^

Update time! I promise I’m not as slow a painter as these updates make me look, I just haven’t had as much time to paint as I would like. Regardless, I have been focusing on the upper portion of the Icebrow Hunter, so I have completed his beard and fur coat. The reason that the leather is a dark blue is because I’m designing the army to be from a winter wasteland and the furs that they have access to are of polar beasts. Interestingly polar bears actually have black skin to help them retain heat, with a load of translucent fur that when layered appears white. Just a fun fact, now onto the images.

A small amount of progress, but I am really liking how he is coming along. I’ll wrap up there, and until next time, I’ll see you later.

Update - Skin

First update to the project and I’m already late. Well, I’m not going to worry about that too much, because progress. I was thinking that I might make this project log into a tutorial on how I do certain techniques or achieve certain effects, buuuuuut… Lets just see how long that lasts…

Oh god dammit...Oh god dammit...

Honestly it kind of reminds me of that drawing tutorial meme. I drew two large circles, added two smaller circles, and somehow went straight to a photo-realistic drawing of a panda. I’ll try to keep things better updated, and if someone has a question on how I do things, I’ll replicate the process and actually document it. Until next time, I’ll see you later.

Yeah, that.Yeah, that.

Where I am now

Hello everybody and anybody, this project log is mainly being created to finish up one of several armies that I have partially built or painted. I figured that Beastclaw Raiders would be a great starting point for a Project since the detail is very easy to see and very fun to paint. Below we have what I have completed for that army, excluding a few minor details.

Where I need to go

Things are looking pretty great on the side of what is complete, but this is an army that I bought online from a buy/swap/sell Warhammer page, so things get a little weird from here. Below is an image of what I still have to complete. it includes a Frostlord on Thundertusk, a Huskard on Thundertusk and Stonehorn, an additional Stonehorn(not sure what variant yet), 6 Mournfang Cavalry with 2 more on the way, Icebrow Hunter, and 2 Frost Sabrs with hopefully 4 more on the way. This comes to 19 models, which I want to get done by the end of January by the latest.

Where to start

I’m going to start with the Icebrow Hunter, who is still not put together entirely since I need to paint his chest and the fur on his back. I am extremely excited for this model. Keep coming back to see how things are coming along, I will be posting every Monday and Thursday, maybe more often if I get really into things. Thanks for reading and enjoy.
