Their shields are being held hostage, so for now only a ‘Lloyd shot’ of them. Will update when the ransom has been payed and the shields are set free to roam the battlefield.

A gift from Gerr <3 And he just fits so perfectly into the ogre army. So much fun. Like “I’m just gonna take a wee sip of this here beer, and then I’m gonna smash you to pieces” Love him.

Since most of the ogres are painted using the same colours, I’m just noting it once here, instead of with every unit type.

This is my least favourite in my Nightstalker army. And it’s not the model. The model is gorgeous <3 I just really don’t like the colour scheme I eneded up with. Think it’s a good excuse to buy another.

Finally got my butchers done. This has taken way longer than it should have, but real life kept getting in the way. Decided to drop a dead cow on the base. Seemed fitting for the butchers. Also keeping with my road theme, these are on a small crossroads. Cause why not.

Paint recipe for the butchers elsewhere in this blog, so only adding the blue skintone for the Fleshripper. I did regret that though…the blue skintone. I wanted him to stand out from the others, but I don’t really like this color on him.

My first KoW game has been played. And it was just as fun as I had imagined. Now, I originally just fell in love with the Nightstalker minies, and bought them without paying much attention to the game behind them. But then I started watching battle reports.

And how amazing is this game, when without any minies and a bare minimum of ‘stuff’, it is still so engaging and captivating. Playing on a hotel bed, with the lid to a chocolate box as our dice tray, bases (with very helpful stat lines and notes – thank you <3), a few pieces of terrain and a cigarbox battlemats. (Note: the cigarbox mats are bloody awesome too).

I came for the minies…

P.S. In case anyone is curious, it was Nightstalkers against Ogres. So buying an Ogre army too.

Not much to say really, since I have the paint recipe for these scarecrows further down. I was debating whether they were coming from a graveyard, but that seemed so ‘ordinary’. So I’ve decided my Nightstalker army is walking across the crossroads. So signs, rats, crows, cobblestone, maybe a tree trunk etc, will be my go to stuff for these bases

I forgot I wanted to add some city names to the sign. So I might go back and freehand that in at some point. But for now I’m calling this one done.

5 more scarecrows done (the ones in the background). Not much to say about them, so focus is on the Butcher.

I really like this model. It was so much fun to paint. Really looking forward to seeing him and his body based up and fighting. As always, it’s mostly Scale75 paints, unless otherwise noted.

Opted for 30 Scarecrows instead of Spectres. Originally I was thinking of dividing up the force. But then I watched some battle reports, and I just love how it looks, when there’s many many (many) models on a base. So will have to buy a box of Spectres at some point too 🙂

Light pale skin colors, with blues for shadows, to give it a more ‘dead’ look. Purple tentacles to tie in the blue and reds of the skin. And some rather sharp edge highlights on clothing, for a more cartoonish look.

All weapons have been rusted up real good. I really like that look, so I might use that on other troops weapons too.

Not sure if I’ll build up and paint more Scarecrows, or start on a Butcher test piece.
