Fans have been asking us the Classic version of BSG fighters since day 1 of the game, and finally, they are here!

The original version of the Viper and Cylon Raider will be featured with rules so that you can play them alone in a “vintage” format with just classic ships, or merge them into the Reimagined setting as “Viper Mk. I” and “Raider Prototype”.

In the photos, you see the final pre-production samples. The models are due for release in early 2020.

Sophisticated tech equipment is used in the development of Advanced FTL :-)Sophisticated tech equipment is used in the development of Advanced FTL :-)

Our first “rules & components” BSG-SB expansion is going to include a number of new game features:

  • a more sophisticated FTL system
  • rules for missiles (both regular and nuclear)
  • rules for larger planetoids
  • atmospheric combat
  • take-offs and landing

All rules are now in place, we are at work (as you see from the photo) on prototyping the physical components for our next playtests!

More about missiles

Missile combat is an important element in the Battlestar Galactica universe. For the sake of simplification, missiles were not included in the BSG Starship Battles Starter Set, but they are going to be featured in upcoming expansions.

We will introduce the missiles as a fully playable expansion which you can use together with your current ship packs, but we are also at work on variant models which feature visible missiles on the miniature itself.

Our engineers sourced hundreds of images from the show and from secondary sources (a selection is shown here) to arrive at a good visualization of “standard” missiles for both Colonials and Cylons, in non-nuclear and nuclear versions, which we’ll show in the next blog entry.
