Helped in part by the slow down in the release schedule, with one final push the last remaining Marvel: Crisis Protocol mini is complete. Until I can get my hands on the next releases I guess…

With any luck, I’ll get some group shots of the group this coming weekend.

Unless this is some sort of crazy dream, it appears I’m managing to add a second entry in April. This is utter madness I say. At some point, no doubt, I’ll add a couple of posts detailing some completed hobby work from earlier in the year, but for now will post some bits from the past week, during which the focus has been on completing the Marvel: Crisis Protocol pieces available before the lockdown came down.

And of course, then get immediately distracted into 3D printing an alternative sculpt for the Hulk (with a symbiotic Venom friend).

Like most of the STLs available for Marvel characters, they’re all aimed at printing at a somewhat larger scale than for a 30mm tabletop game, but scaling this down to 20% it printed reasonably well on the Anycubic Photon, with most of the damage caused to the finer pieces by fat fingers patched over with some green stuff coated with superglue to give it some rigidity for some of the more fiddly tendrils.

After some debate of whether to include the scenic base, I came to the conclusion that it more or less fitted on the required 65mm base, and would probably be playable, so went with it.

The quick afternoon painting resulted in a pretty pleasing result. and has certainly been one of the positive outcomes of being able to play with a 3D printer.

And scales pretty well with the official sculpt so all good there as well!

Hulk showdown!Hulk showdown!

…I realise that I’ve failed to update this in any way shape or form. Oops.

Still, given the continuing tediousness of lockdown, I can probably make some time to catch up with various bits I’ve managed to complete in recent months.

No better place to start than where I finished last time I guess! One completed Iron Spider scaled to match the correct scale for Marvel Crisis Protocol.

The Start of Another Year

Well, with 2020 just beginning, it seemed to be as good a time as any to try one of these ‘project’ things in an attempt to log the upcoming year in the hobby (well assuming I manage to keep this going for longer than a week).

I seem to have started off the year mainly focusing on Marvel Crisis Protocol – already shared within the forums.

The Start of Another Year

So carrying on from that I’ve been predominantly working upon the some of the terrain and measurement rulers. Decided to get on and try and work through some of the larger terrain pieces supplied in the main box first. Hopefully, I’ll clear that hurdle, which with any luck, will make polishing off the smaller pieces seem easy.

The rest of the hobby time has been spent playing around with this new Anycubic Photon thing I finally took the plunge on messing around with. The test print came out perfectly, and the first print beyond that only took a couple of attempts to get things to print without failure.

Of course, sticking with the Marvel theme…figured I’d attempt to try producing some alternative sculpts for some of the included heroes.
