About the Project

I really am not a big fan of Star Wars, yes shock horror, the whole thing seemed to of passed me back and I was more into Battlestar Galactica, the originals and Star Trek. That was until I watched the Mandalorian and that totally changed my views on Star Wars. So what changed, the House Challenge, Go House Water, and getting involved in the winning battle scenario, having no idea about the game, downloading the rules and finding out that I quite like the game. Also some of my fellow gamers at Geek Villain Gaming Group and Leicester Phat Cats also played or were getting into play this and played a couple of demo games and I am hooked. Factionwise I am definitely for the Galactic Empire.

I just like millions of other people love Boba Fett for no other reason than you just looks cool. That armour, the weapons, the gadgets, it all adds up and when I realised that I could had Boba in my Imperial forces for Legion as an Operative, it was a no brainer, I had to have him in my force.

The model is lovely and it is great that he is in a flying pose but my advise is to paint him is sub-assembles, not like me fully built, as you will find it easier.

I never realised just have many different pictures with different colours on his clothing there was. I just hope I got it right.

I am slowly building a 500 point Imperial force for Star Wars Legion using the basic set plus additional add ons. The 74-Z Speeder Bikes come with the core set and I like them, in fact so much so I got the Scout Trooper set and will be getting another set of speeder bikes. Lets be honest, didn’t you just love them in Mandolorian?

They are super fun to paint.

I have finished Vader for my Star Wars Legion force and I have tried to made the blacks of the clothing and armour look and feel different. Mainly done be painting Different shades of grey, I love Vallejo Black Grey and German Grey, and then using Vallejo Black Glaze to matt down the clothing and using Vallejo Game Wash Black for the armour as it has a glossy look to it.

The light sabre is a red glaze over a white base to give the feeling of a grown and the used the red glaze as light source reflections on the clothing and armour.

Stormtroopers, what can you say, the backbone of the Empire, cannot hit for toffee and generally are canon fodder. Well there are that but also they are very nice models. I thought that they are white, how hard is that to paint, yeah right.

So I primed them grey and then hit them with a white primer from above, don’t think I really needed to do that and I painted them using my trusted Vallejo Model Colour paints.

I uses a triad of Dark Blue Grey, Sky Grey and White. I painted the armoured areas firstly with a watered down wash mix of Dark Blue Grey and then painted all the armoured areas using the Sky Grey as the base and then highlighted with white.

After this I went back over the with a watered down mix of Dark Blue Grey and picked out the hard armoured plates and the recess areas to give it a hard edge.

Next I added in on the black areas using Vallejo Model Colour Black, German Grey and Basalt Grey. For this I painted the black areas, including the blaster, in German Grey and then I highlighted using Basalt Grey and for the blaster I added a further highlight of Sky Grey and then washed a watered down Black over it. I also used a Vallejo Black Wash on the gun and visor as this is a little glossy to make them stand out.
