A Pirate called Ocean...

A few we mistakes, but mostly corrected since taking the photos… The mould line on her headcovering may mean she has to walk the plank into the dettol sea though.

And, yes, Ocean Otter is a great name.

Another wonderful sculpt from Oathsworn, really can’t say enough good things about these and how nice they are to paint.  I’ve changed the name from Lady Jayne De’Ath… because I am simple at heart!

Rosaline Rat

Another great sculpt from Oathsworn. The face is just gorgeous…anyway!  Rosaline is a Black Rat Witch.  Now, witches are usually dressed in black, but not my Rosaline… if she is going to turn you into something repulsive like a human, she is going to look fancy and magical while doing it.  Her familiar on top of her staff is called Spoddles, and she has a vicious bite if you get too close.

This is about version 4 of the cloak.  I’m not going back to it!

Quick paint job on this one.  No idea what to do with him.  Colours were inspired by my favourite American Football team.

NB – While varnishing Salvador, I noticed I didn’t paint his little pouch!  Silly me!

Rosanna Rat

This is a lovely sculpt.  The website description is that she is a Black Rat Thug, but she has a very pretty dress and a lovely D+G handbag.  Oathsworn have painted her in a pink dress, but rather than copy their paint scheme, I decided on a red polka dress, and I think she looks really pretty… still wouldn’t fancy meeting her in a dark alley though!

One consequence of painting her is, I really want to paint some Skaven and Veermyn now!

Sammy Shrew

Sammy is a Shrew-Zerker… so he got some warpaint and stripey trousers.

Used him as a bit of experiment by using Rose Brown to mix highlights into brown, I’ll hold judgement on whether it is better than just adding Ivory or Screaming Skull.

The Beginning!

I own a lot of Oathsworn Miniatures, ranging from Dwarfs to Robots, but I have painted very few… an Ogre and a Halfling Wizard if my brain is remembering correctly.  They are far too nice sculpts to be stored in a box, so this is the beginnings of getting paint onto them.

The above Rabbit was the first mini I randomly pulled out of a hat… Ok, it was a box, but the hat somehow sounds more magically!  She sat undercoated for weeks, then I base coated her, then I didn’t know what to do…

But on Thursday evening, I just started painting and I am quite happy with how she turned out.

The Beginning!

On Friday morning, in far better light, I saw lots of little mistakes and bits I didn’t like so they got tidied up and she then got a varnish, so is now all glossy.  She will remain like this until I decide how to base her up.  She also needs a name.  I’m thinking Rosey Rabbit, but am open to suggestions that don’t actually suck like my idea!

The Beginning!

Of course Rosey is not on her own, and these are the next three minis that I pulled from the hat… the Highland Stoat bringing fear of painting yet more tartan!  I suspect the Weasel Soldier will be the first to be painted, and he shall be known as Wally Weasel… I sense a very bad pattern developing here.

Hope you enjoy this Project, and if you like what you see you can find out more over on the Burrows and Badgers website – https://burrowsandbadgers.com/ or from Osprey https://ospreypublishing.com/burrows-badgers or from Oathsworn https://www.oathswornminiatures.co.uk/
