About the Project
Hi there! With the annoucement of Mantic coming back to Kickstarter for more Hellboy action. I decided on sharing with you my hobbying with this game. So here is a repository of the painting I've been doing for this game probably for the last year or so. I kickstarted Hellboy: the board game. It then sat on my shelf for a while being busy painting the rest of my plastic pile of shame. One day I decided to play the game and, since I decided on not playing one of my board games without having it painted to a minimum standard, I had to paint Hellboy and his gang. I'm happy to say that progress has been rather swift. Contrast Paints are a big help for this kind of projects. The game is also superb with easily paintable minis and good quality components. The rules are also top notch. Enjoy!

Virtual gameplay.
Since we are still in lockdown here I have invested in a virtual tabletop setup. It’s not very complicated. I simply bought two webcams and I use OBS to stream everything into Discord. It works quite well and seems to be not too demanding on the hardware and internet connection.
I’m still tweaking everything. For example, I still haven’t found a way to show the player’s cards to a specific player etc. For Hellboy it’s not really a problem since it is a coop game but it might prove problematic for other games. For Hellboy, I think I will only scan the player cards and then show them as an image into OBS. That way it should be readable. It’s this or I will have to invest in a better camera with a good enough adjustable focus.
I will also look into streaming Spotify directly into OBS so that we can have an ambient soundtrack. If you have any suggestions, feel free to share them. We look to be stuck in lockdown until Spring. We even have a curfew right now…
