Crashing On...and Priming Complete
Did some work on the half-done Horats. Generally good, but a bit of clean up remains. The rain broke, and got the last Ferroxes primed, so everything is at least primed now!
Priming Is (Almost) Done - Charge!
Well, did the last of the brush-on priming on the Shengrylla, and the Pirate Shock Trooper joints. Wanted to do something else, so did some drybrushing and color on the Horats. Not really happy with the look yet; have to adjust the colors a bit. I do have four Ferroxes left to prime, but I just need a nice day to sneak out there.
Assailants Assemble!
Well, with green stuffing on second tails and third eyes to the Shengrylla, that’s everyone assembled, and they were already based. Tomorrow might be priming day, brushing on to the Ryakan and Shengrylla (and the bits of limbs I added to the Pirate Shock Troopers) and rattlecanning the Ferroxes. Once that’s done, it’s just painting forty-odd figures!
…just forty-odd figures, he says. Oh dear…
Prime the Guns! (And the Rest of the Figure Too!)
Assembled the last of the Ryankan, so all that’s left for assembly is the tails and eyes of the Shengrylla, which I just don’t feel like today. I primed the Pirates that needed brush on, though, so that’s another box knocked off. One more day this week, and then a short week next, then a week off; maybe I can get some major progress then.
Closer to Prime
Went out for supper, so assembly and priming tonight, but…well, we’re getting awfully close to everything assembled and based. Three shengrylla and one Ryankan are the holdouts. Probably by the end of the weekend.
I have a bunch I can still paint, but at some point we’re going to run up against the lack of the skin tones paint kit. Worst case, I’ll put the bestiary on hold and finish off my dino squad, or work on scenery bits.
Welcome to the Base Jam, All Right
Not feeling well again tonight, so just made a bit of progress then laid down. Some base work on the Ferroxes now the last two came in, and the Shengrylla (which I still have to modify for the third eye and second tail). Glued some Ryankan to posts and one to a base, and hit what needed priming with a layer since it’s a nice night. Time to crash.
Oops, Picture Not Found
I did progress: second layer of varnish on the Tanglers, the Sentrabots, and the last of the Magmites, second layer of primer on the Shock Troopers, first layer of primer on some Pirates and Primitives, and glued a Ryakan dragon onto a base…and then realized I should have primed first… Ah well.
Y'arr, the Shine of Jade....
Had a package to pick up, and was pleased to find it was North Star, which includes my last two pirates, finishing off my choices. Four from Reaper, two from North Star, and two Corregidor Jaguars. A motley crew, to be sure. Anyway, did the basing of them, and the last primitives. Also tested out the Glitter Green; I like how it looks on the Porigata back. Should be a fun paint.
Any Progress Counts
Heat’s on the fritz at work and sucked the energy out of me. Barely qualifies today, but rattlecaned the Pirate Shock Troopers with primer and a bunch of stuff with varnish. Any port in a storm.
Puttering
If it wasn’t for the ‘at least do a thing’ streak, I dunno if I’d have sat down at all at the crafting table. Still, once down… Drybrushed the Tanglers with Pixie Pink, Monster Brown, and Skeleton Bone on the base. Added magnets under the Pirate Shock Troopers and a couple Ferroxes. Finally, glued some wings in place on the wrymling dragons I’m using as Ryakans. Nothing earth shattering, but the Tanglers will probably be ready for varnish after this weekend, Monday at the worst.
