About the Project
What do you do when building a Kings of War Fantasy army? Start another one before you finish of course!! Our gaming group decided that with Elves, Men and Dwarves well represented it was probably an idea to have some 'Evil' armies in the mix... so having my own Waaagh of 40k Boyz I said I'd better do Orcs!

Wolf Riders (Skulks)
Oathmark Wolfriders as Troop of Skulks
Orc Shaman
Mounted Oathmark Goblin shaman on GW boar. Tusks reforged via cocktail sticks and filler!
GreatAx (or Bigguns)
Some actual ORCS in an ‘orc’ army! Oathmark again, the more upright stances lend them to being a GreatAx troop. If not the Axes bigger, then certainly the Orcs wielding them are!
MoreAx Regiment
Again the versatility of the Oathmark ‘Goblins’ shows.. simple to convert the left shield arms to weapons arms. Skull pole bearer was a little more cutting and pasting!
Gore(Boar) Riders
Ebay rescued oldhammer Boars and Oathmark goblin wolf riders. Needed a bit of cutting and shutting below the waist to accommodate the boars… girth!
Boar Rescue Project
Ebay rescues! Or at least the first batch. Most missing tails and jaws/tusks so simple blob of epoxy putty (many brands available) and some cocktail sticks pushed in to fit.. tails via ‘bit of floristry wire twisted round a stick and glued in) method..
Just need their ‘passengers’ now!
The Drum of War(rrrrrrgh)
A mix of Reaper minis goblin drum and Oathmark Metal character.. ‘drum arder yoo orrible grotz’!!
Trolls!!
A sort-of rescue project. Also I believe allied contingents can unlock other cool stuff and as Trolls feature in both Orc and Goblin lists..why not have some of these big fellas to bulk out the Army?
Aquired prebuilt from Mirfield Miniatures they were a lot of fun to paint, contrasts mainly with a little drybrushing and a very VERY nauseating yellow/green for the Vom-Troll!
Skulks
Now I’m no power gamer or meta-chaser, I build for theme and fluff and RuleOfCool. Skulks as a unit seem to have been widely panned by people online… but I made a Troop of them anyway to sneak forwards at the start of the game and give a little bit of ranged action!
Ax Regiment
Having enjoyed the Oathmark Elves for my High Elf Army project I decided to try the Oathmark greenskin equivalent. ‘Goblins’ they may be but they have all the classic bruta hunched look of Tolkienesque Orcs and put me very much in mind of the look of the Boyz in Fighting Fantasy books (my own fantasy Gateway Drug from the 1980s). Again a lot of decent options in the basic box set, and a Regiment of basic Orc Ax seems pretty much a must-take unit. The ‘Skull Pole’ is magnetised as its a One-shot upgrade so the top can be removed/burned as the Boyz pile into the fray!
Da Boss!
Reaper Miniatures Orc Paladin character (I think!), lightly converted to sit astride his oldhammer GW ‘gore’..
