About the Project

Finally time to paint my rat fiend proxy that I have had for a good while now. It is the broodmother model from archvillian part of their affliction series. This model will be used for firefight and Kings of war from mantic games

So I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t managed to finish the painting, not even close.  I did try glazing on the skin which is something I have never done before.  I used the tutorial video from Dana Howl https://youtu.be/A13JfFJxtIg

I am liking the sickly skin so far and think it will look much better once its finished and matt varnished.

I will continue to post updates and try and finish this without getting too distracted by painting stuff for deadzone and firefight

I did a thing

So I am trying something a bit different here.   Did a basic black on the fur and baby rats.  On the fur I used a really thinned down vallejo beige brown over it, like a wash/glaze.  I plan to add a few different shade of brown and grey throughout the fur as time goes on.  The arm armour was given 2 coats of contrast blood angel red as the base.  The skin is where I am experimenting, I used vallejo blue violet as a base and I am going to try and glaze right up to a light grey or pale sand.  Not sure how it’s going to pan out because it looks mental just now but at least I did a thing.

So here it is, my shame.  I love the mantic games model for the rat fiend but when I saw this model I fell in love with it.  I have had this for around a year now and to my shame I have only done a black prime with a zenithal highlight.  It has been sitting taunting me for ages now so it’s time to sort that.  I am going to try and do a good job on this because it deserves it.  Wish me luck
