The project continues!
This project hasn’t been abandoned yet! (give it time it’ll happen eventually) i printed off and painted up a few skull spiders as little minions for one of the horrors. they were super simple to paint and turned out decently well. stay tuned as i’ve got more stuff coming down the pipeline in the next month!
The Devourer finished!
I decided after looking at the horrors in the rulebook for the DOOMED that this little guy suited THE DEVOURER. So to finish painting him I wanted to add some human body parts to his mouth. Thankfully I know a Gerry who was kind enough to drop some Frostgrave kits down to the office for us to use as coversion parts. I took a few body parts off the sprues and gave them a quick paint job then slathered them in Green Stuff World true blood effect. After that I used Green Stuff World Bile effect to make his mouth a little more disgusting then added another bit of true blood effect inside the mouth and around the teeth. I’m very happy with how the first horror ended up but now I’m gonna have to dig threw my mountain of STL files to find the next horror on the list!
The Devourer!
After printing off this “Crawling doom” from cast n play on MyMiniFactory I primed it with black spray, zenithed it with white spray and then covered it in citadel contrast: plaguebearer flesh.
Once the plaguebearer flesh had dried I painted this monstrosities boils and growths with citadel contrast: nazdreg yellow. While that was drying i moved onto the mouths and teeth which I did with citadel contrast: flesh tearers red for the inside of the mouths, vallejo model colour beige and citadel contrast: skeleton horde for the rotting teeth.
First two models finished!
One of my main goals with this project is to make the painting side of things quick. My other goal is to make it decently cheap. So to stick with my first goal of painting the miniatures quickly I decided to mainly paint with Citadel contrast paints and Army Painter speed paints. Which in this case I think worked quite well. With the Reborn Covens I’m going with a dirty and grubby look aswell as some mutations later on down the line. I think the first models turned out well!
The first two miniatures for the Reborn covens
After looking at Knucklebones miniatures on the Weekender a little while ago I found out that I got a few of them included in my MyMiniFactory+ subscription so decided that those would be a great place to start for the Reborn Covens warband. I printed them off (and forgot to take pictures of course) using my Elegoo Saturn 2 8k 3D printer and after they were washed and cured decided to get right into painting them.
