The New Year's Resolution
The year is 2025 and for the pile of shame has not shrunk, even though I’ve been able to put out a few good projects and paint a fair number of models.
Ive got walking dead, Warhammer, bolt action, blood and plunder, schibor models for frostgrave, imperial assault and Star Wars legion to tackle.
So in order to tackle this I decided to make a new years resolution… which is a big thing for me as I believe they are all total nonsense.
im not banning myself from buying anything new, that’s fraught with danger and simply will be broken and then ignored meaning it is a pointless exercise.
SO what I’m going to do is promise to tax myself 100% of the cost and put it into a savings account. I’ve chosen a lifetime ISA for this, its boosted by the government by 25% and I am penalised for removing money early… that gives two incentives.
If I buy something new it costs me double (bad), but it also costs the government (good) and I get a toy (good).
I’ll keep a tab of how much I spend, how much I paint and how much I save throughout 2025 to see how effective I am. if I save lots, good, if I paint more, better.
