Invincible: Superhero Roleplaying is based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley which then got turned into the grand animated series on Prime Video. As mentioned above, the Kickstarter will introduce a full Rulebook and Starter Set with illustrations by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley and graphic design by Johan Nohr (MÖRK BORG).
As we discussed in a recent Cult Of Games XLBS, getting superheroes "right" can be rather hard but it seems like Free League and the team are going to be making use of the Year Zero Engine game mechanics to power Invincible. It feels like a good fit as it's decidedly narrative in focus and continues to be easy to pick up for those perhaps new to roleplaying.
The tone is going to be important as while Invincible is poppy and colourful, it has a pretty gritty core to it and deals with some big themes and storylines. The Starter Set should be intriguing!
Could you be tempted by a new superhero roleplaying game and one set in the world of Invincible?
