Marvel has announced that they are working on an official role-playing game for their comic book universe. The Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game is going to be getting a playtest release next year in 2022 so you can dive in and play as your favourite superheroes.

Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game - Marvel

Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game // Marvel

This new roleplaying game comes from Matt Forbeck and will allow you to play as some of the mightiest heroes from the Marvel universe and build your own character. Maybe you'll be able to start telling your own stories and join the Avengers in their struggles against all manner of interesting supervillains.

The book will include rules for playing as Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain America, Thor, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, Storm and loads more. I do like the idea of playing as one of these characters and seeing just what they can do.

This new roleplaying game will also use a new system called the D616 System (I see what they did there). It has been designed to be accessible and easy to learn for new players with plenty of depth for those who want to take it further. You'll use the statistics of Might, Agility, Resilience, Vigilance and Logic to win the day and force down terrible odds.

As mentioned above, this is going to be part of a Playtest book which you'll be able to pick up in 2022. You'll then be able to offer feedback to the team behind the game ahead of its full release in 2023.

I am all for giving this a go!
