Two New Supplements Coming For Free League’s Dragonbane RPG
May 23, 2025 by brennon
Free League Publishing will be on Kickstarter soon with a new campaign that introduces two supplements to their hit Fantasy roleplaying game, Dragonbane. Introduce seaborne adventures and learn the ways of forgotten magic with these two new books.
Arkand Supplement // Dragonbane
Arkand will introduce you to the winding alleyways of Arkand, the City of Waves and Flames. This introduces a new location for you to set your adventures and a place ripe for tales that go beyond your typical woodlands and rocky hills. Take to the seas and go a little bit extra!
The second book, the Book of Magic, will introduce even more spells and ways to adopt arcane learning in your games of Dragonbane.

Engage in some less-than-good magical experimentation and perhaps bring forth an undead horde like the one that you see on the cover! Once again, we've got some stunning artwork, something that defines the style of Dragonbane, and gives it that Epic Fantasy vibe alongside a little bit of Mirth & Mayhem as the game's subtitle would suggest.
If you've not played Dragonbane before you can check out a Quickstart right now or consider picking up the Starter Set so you can give it a go.
Dragonbane Starter Set // Free League Publishing
Free League don't half push the boat out when it comes to their roleplaying game Starter Sets/Core Sets and the Dragonbane one is no different. It comes with all the full rules, sample characters for you to play, cards, dice, maps and the tokens for your initial quests.
Are you going to be trying these new supplements for Dragonbane, or perhaps you'll indulge in a new roleplaying game?

I’m not usually one for the more “cartoony” art, but hot DANG that art is dynamite!
Tired of the trend of newer games shying away from the word “race,” though. It’s such an innocuous word to be afraid of; why take the unnecessary step of coming up with a synonym for “race,” when you can just use…”race?”
The game does look pretty cool, though.
The Duck is back …
I wish the art piece for the original kickstarter had been that Duck assassin.
Maybe this time we will get one ?
Free League Publishing really know how to pick the artists for their RPG’s.
Sadly, based on my experience of their games, proof readers are lower quality.
They also depend on backers like me actually doing part of the proof reading too. How much of that feedback makes it into the printed materials is something that’s impossible to judge.
Must admit that I rarely take the time to do that. There’s something not quite enjoyable when there’s no physical material to hold on to when I need to read things.
And like anything there’s a deadline as retail needs to get a physical copy at some point, which means that not everything will get fixed in print unless there’s a second run.
