Hi-Tech Release Megatherion War Walker
October 18, 2011 by dracs
Hi-Tech are bringing out the big guns for the Biotech Covenant with their new war walker, the Megatherion.
This is certainly an impressive miniature which is sure to take central place on any wargaming table. However, I find the general pose some what jarring in just how static it is, even with the different leg positions.
On the other hand it is a little hard to think of how else they could have done it.
So what's the verdict on this latest piece of hardware? Will any of you be snagging yourselves one?
…as always with Hitech, I really like the concept, and think it’s a really coool loking body, but their poses are just *crap*.
*cool looking
Man, what is with my typing lately?
i like it, the static pose seems to suit it quite well IMHO. Could see this being a dreadnought in my spehz Mahreens army 😀
It’s no more static than certain Dreadnoughts I know of…
Nothing some reposing won’t correct… and I think it looks slightly less like a space garbage bin, which is good !

I think it looks great, it could very easily be a dreadnought, even the close combat weapon looks right.
What’s wrong with it being static? Would you prefer it to be doing cartwheels or something? :p
This model has so much going for it. The cool reverse jointed legs, giant crushing claw, and of course that beefy auto cannon. But why did they have to make the torso a chair? If they make another one with an enclosed pilot compartment I would buy it.
First the plus: The cog joints in the arms are great. It gives it an old clockwork look to it. Also the arms are big and give the feeling of power. The pose it OK in my book as I like most walkers static or just a bit turned as if scanning the land. The cons: the legs looks out of place. It might be the large gap between them that makes them look at bit off. Or they just need to be a bit beefier to tie it in with the rest of the model. That is the only… Read more »
