So the countdown to Warpath has begun. Warren and I are just looking through it, while the final touches are made to the website and Backstage.
It looks really exciting guys... I've already begun looking for some cool minis to use... can't wait for the proper Mantic plastics!

I don’t like how I have to get both a paypal and backstage to look through these, but I guess thats my fault overall :/
The Beta Test will be released in a few weeks and it will be public. However, if you want to get the inside track and early access, then you need to get Backstage.

Ive seen a few people say this about Paypal If its any sort of conciliation I have used paypal for at least 10 years, never had a problem with them, and specific to the way beasts of war is set up, I am a member of a modelling site (aircraft kits mainly) who operates a similar system, a few quid a month for access to special videos and monthly content, I’ve bene doing that for close to two years, again no issues. Possibly, but I do not trust them. They try to state in their T&Cs that their not subject to UK or even EU banking law after all.
I’d rather just give BoW £50 now.

Can’t sign up for Backstage because my Paypal account isn’t verified, can’t verify my account because I don’t have a land line. Here’s the really great part, can’t delete my PayPal account because…..wait for it……my account isn’t verified!!!! YAAAAYYYYY!
It’s odd they won’t let you use an unverified account, mine isn’t verified either and I have no problems. Are you using some sort of credit/debit card with it or are you using actual funds in the account? That might be the reason for the difference
My debit card is linked to my account. Tried to subcribe to Backstage, but since my card is linked and my account is unverified it won’t allow it.
now i can use my space wolves to ‘count as’ something else – brilliant!
Everyone needs a paypal anyways for stuff like ebay, so you guys have no excuse to not have one :p i will be signing up for backstage nearer the end of the month.
Aside from paypal’s immediate ersponse to disputes is that they are governed by Singaporean finance law, not British law. Which is utter hogwash.

Nice touch to give us a taste of the kind of content that Backstage will feature, helps those of us unsure if we are going to sign up way the content against the cost, much appreciated guys.
I’m starting to get exicted about Warpath, a credible alternative to 40k may just be the kick up the arse that makes GW change their current philosophy. I’m a sci fi guy at heart so I hope Mantic produce something great because I would love to support them.
Just to be a picky asshole, the opposite of backstage is onstage 😉

I can’t wait to read the rules. My friend and I tried playing 40k last weekend after spending a few weeks trying to read the rulebook and putting our Eldar and Space Marines battle forces together. I understand it would get easier with time, but it was much more frustrating than fun playing since we were looking through both the main rulebook and our separate army books every two minutes. I like having depth in a game, but it is overwhelming trying to learn a new game from scratch with as many rules as 40k and WHFB. I will like… Read more »
Hmm, I’m really not sure if Warpath will be for me, but I will look at the products and stuff and give ita fair chance before I make any decisions. KoW didnt appeal to me as I am not into Generic Fantasy and tend to prefer more niche stuff – and if Warpath follows by using traditional tropes it probably wont interest me either – but regardless I do wish them good luck with it 🙂 if they have any Space Squids or lovecraftian styled aliens – someone let me know 😛

Mantic dwarves already come with crossbows and lasguns 😉 Seriously though, can’t wait to get a swatch at the rules. Hoping for some kind of overwatch mechanic or maybe mixing up unit activation to achieve the same result so you can set up ambushes and crossfires. Any chance of some more mini design sketches too, would be cool to follow a unit from the alpha through from initial rules and drawing, to greens, to scanning for the sprue, to finished product. Could do 1 each of plastic, resin and metal mini’s to show the different considerations that go into each.… Read more »

really looking forward to this, have already broken out some old armies for stand ins.
maybe as a suggestion.. Could you guys at BOW perhaps release the backstage to the whole public maybe a few months after back stage viewers got the content. Similar to what miniwargamming do with their videos. but of course maybe excluding the really expensive stuff like the terrain boards.
