Battle On The Moon With Telesis Games’ Lunar Wars Coming Soon
April 1, 2025 by brennon
Telesis Games are on Gamefound right now previewing their brand new Sci-Fi skirmish game, Lunar Wars. Featuring 45mm scale miniatures sculpted by legends like the mighty Bob Naismith, this game looks like something rather unique and different!
Lunar Wars // Telesis Games
In this game, players are plunged into the Second Lunar War, taking control of either the US Astro Marines or the deadly Russian Roscosmos Veterans. The game has been designed to be a deep, tactical experience on the tabletop that also feeds into a narratively rich experience.
As well as introducing factions with distinct and different mechanics to master, the game will also delve into the political tensions bubbling under the surface. You'll also have to deal with Lunar challenges like meteor storms, craters, solar storms and more. All of this changes up your battlefield each time you play.
To kick things off, there are two different factions for you to choose from.
Lunar Wars - Factions // Telesis Games
Even though both factions are soldiers in space suits, there are some really nice design choices between the two factions which mark them out as distinct. I really like the sleek look of the US suits, but then you have the industrial Sci-Fi vibe of the Russian troops. Function over form rules for them as a faction, it seems.
When it comes to miniatures, we've got a closer look at more of the miniatures that you'll be able to get for both sides. This gives you a good idea of what's included inside the Core Box they will be offering as part of the Gamefound campaign.
Lunar Wars - Miniatures // Telesis Games
I am totally sold on the armoured walkers for both of the factions. Whilst I quite like the brutalist nature of the Russian equipment, there's something epic about the MK II Ares Exoskeleton that really ticks all the boxes!
You can even see some of the early miniatures from Lunar Wars painted by Cult Of Paint as an example. How cool are these?!

If this has intrigued you, make sure to check out more from the Gamefound campaign HERE. There are plenty of great design choices made with the miniatures and the gameplay mechanics sound intriguing too, especially considering the setting.

The campaign for Lunar Wars is going to be coming up very soon with just under two weeks for you to prepare. It's worth keeping the Gamefound campaign bookmarked to see what they plan to share next, as I'm sure we'll learn more very soon.
Could Lunar Wars be the next Sci-Fi game in your collection?

Don’t go to the moon.
It’s full of
Loonies
XD
Everyone knows the moon is made of cheese, yet I see no orange. Why?
Because it’s very old cheese! They turn that way on the edge.
Oooooh… that makes sense. Doih!
One of these days – POW! Right to the moon!

Looks good Hope it does well 👍
They are Russian but their helmets say CCCP?
Retro space. No one wants modern Orcs.
The Apple TV+ series has spawned all these space games. It’s quite good.

So… likely, not?
Do mine eyes deceive me? Are those transparent visors that come with the miniatoor? It would be a lot more difficult to pull that off at 28mm, I guess, but I find deviating from more general scales like 28mm annoying generally. It means you have to invest in new terrain too (says the man who’s building two armies at 13.5mm scale…). That said, I do like the sculpts and the paint jobs on them.
They do look transparent. Starship Troopers had clear visors too. So did Mars Attacks! ACK ACK ACK
Use superglue and watch all your fingerprints appear! It’s MAGIC!
45mm?!? Mmmh….
This had my attention at first glance, but then I saw the 45mm scale. Get out of here with that nonsense.
And then they wanna have mech suits and vehicles at that scale to boot? Come on…
Yeah I’ve thought it over and I’m likely to back this. Happy to follow on gamefound
